Problem: the trouble with carbon


Carbon markets suffer from bureaucracy, corruption, ineffective and unjust conservation outcomes and reputational headaches for buyers.

1. Lack of transparency - Buyers have no way to monitor or track their carbon without third parties, exposing them to greenwashing accusations.

2. Reductionism - Reducing rainforests/mangroves to carbon grossly under values nature, creates unintended consequences and switches off the public. Climate health depends on more than CO2.

3. Exploitation - Indigenous communities protect world’s most biodiverse ecosystems but receive less than 1% of climate finance. Too often they are marginalised, exploited and even kicked off their land.

4. Misaligned incentives - Governments are disincentivized from legally protecting ecosystems, and incentivised to exaggerate threats, if not to manufacture them which also affects accreditation, reporting and monitoring.

  • Interactive Map: See every Square you protect on our map. Our unique 3m² mapping system, creates an immutable world-wide grid to display Squares.

  • Impact Dashboard: Use your dashboard to track your impact across carbon, biodiversity and community. Proprietary ABC methodology, owned by Native.

  • Real-time data insights: We track global insights employing AI, satellite technology and ground truthing for advanced measuring and monitoring capabilities.

Native Square: a new class of asset


Unique: Algorithmic geospatial grid mapping system for precise location identification

Holistic: Best-in-class impact assessment including Cambridge Centre for Carbon Credits’ remote carbon sensing, Savimbo’s biodiversity unit, and Native’s proprietary community methodology

Environmental Rights: Not an ownership claim on the land itself, but a set of legal rights lasting 40 years related to ecosystem benefits derived from the land it represents

Investable: Squares will be tradeable on the secondary market, 10% annual price appreciation per Square

My Role as Founding Product Manager / Head of Product

  • Led the 0-to-1 product development and launch of Native's digital platform and website as the sole product manager and designer

  • Launched a new class of environmental asset and the financial model for its implementation within nature markets and financing

  • Implemented Native’s interactive map and impact data analytics dashboard that enables users to directly fund, track, trade and showcase their impact portfolio of projects from across the world using Native’s multi-metric impact methodology

  • Optimised proprietary algorithms that structured a grid system, partitioning the globe into marketable 3m² land units for conservation

  • Designed and implemented API integrations with partners to trigger the purchasing of Native Squares within external infrastructures

  • Developed a long-term product vision for the Native platform in line with the company’s ambitious mission and goals

  • Tailored customer-focused solutions for B2C and B2B clients, expanding Native's reach and impact across diverse market segments

  • Established monetization strategies that led to significant revenue growth for Native and ensured that a significant portion of funds directly supported local guardians and indigenous communities, enhancing involvement and project authenticity
